Enrichment is a chance for your three or four-year-old child to enhance their morning experience by participating in additional classroom activities, outdoor play, eating lunch in a group setting and in some cases an additional specialist.  The curriculum may include science experiments, cooking, treasure hunts and costumes.

After School Enrichment Choices:

“Hands on Fun” Monday- Taught by our own Dawn Nickman, this class will help to nourish the curious mind through all sorts of investigation and exploration!  Children will turn things upside down and inside out as they explore nature, art and science.  The curriculum may include science experiments, cooking, treasure hunts and performing arts.

“Fun & Fit” Tuesday- Jeannine Palermo loves obstacle courses and so will your child in this exciting class!  Jeannine teaches pre-school fitness classes through the Scarsdale Recreation Department.   While playing age appropriate games, your child will increase motor, social and listening skills in this active class. 

“Soccer” Wednesday- Coaches will work with every student to develop skills, self-confidence, and teamwork in a fun, non-competitive environment.  Positive reinforcement ensures that each child will improve his or her soccer skills through engaging warm-ups, activities, and games

“Music and Movement” Thursday- Jen Rosin will present a full musical experience.  She’ll show us all sorts of instruments.   Jen will teach us how each instrument is played and the sounds they make.  She’ll help us listen to music and hear the different notes, beats, tempos and variations in musical pieces.  These are all great reading and math skills presented through music.

Here are some additional facts about Enrichment:

• Enrichment will begin the week after and you have the option of signing up for one, two, three or four days. 
• Enrichment begins directly after dismissal at noon and ends at 2:30pm. 
• Each child is responsible for bringing in their own lunch. Please remember we are a nut aware school.

Pizza & Play

On Fridays, we offer our Pizza And Play Program. Children can stay at school until 1 pm and enjoy extra playtime outside (weather permitting) and eat a hot pizza lunch with their friends.  Registration forms will be handed out during try on week.
