Set against the chaotic backdrop of recent events in the Middle East "The Green Prince" retraces the details of a highly unprecedented and unconventional alliance that developed between sworn enemies across the Israeli-Palestinian divide. In the style of a psychological thriller, this unpredictable documentary recounts the extraordinary true story of the son of a Hamas leader who emerged as one of Israel's prized informants, and the Shin Bet agent who recruited him and ultimately risked his lie and career to protect him.

When did Jews Become Funny?

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7
Phil Halpern will examine the dominant role Jews have played in the world of comedy and enliven the conversation with illustrations and videos. He will give examples of different characteristics of Jewish humor and how they became an integral part of American comedy. Clips of famous Jewish comedians Fanny Brice, Mel Brooks, Jackie Mason, Alan King and others will be used to create a historical perspective of American Jewish comedy.
