There’s an old Yiddish folk saying: “When you feed a guest, you’re occasionally feeding an angel.” The expression implies that when we share a meal together….there’s a lot more that is going on than eating. It is as if the shared meal is on some level taking place not in our dining rooms, but in heaven. All this with the great hope that God’s presence might be felt during this time of sharing and connection.
Or: maybe in your house….a turkey dinner is just a turkey dinner with family and friends!
Regardless, from our respective homes to your’s: may this season of sharing inspire you to do even more sharing in the days ahead (click here for more on how you can be a part of the SSTTE observance of #givingtuesday).
