Classes will take place at Scarsdale Synagogue. You are welcome to bring your laptops if you want to apply some tricks on the spot.
Dr. Pierre Darmon has been in the IT industry for over 30 years. He held many management and non-management positions at IBM, and is now a computer solutions and education consultant, helping individuals and businesses throughout Westchester solve their computing needs. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Westchester PC Users Group, and regularly teaches workshops on many different technology topics. Pierre is married to Naomi Klein. With their 3 children, they have been members of Temple Kol Ami in White Plains since 1997.

It's a jungle out there, with all kinds of threats. As soon as your computer, tablet, or smartphone is on and connected to the internet, you are vulnerable. So be proactive to protect your computer and your data. We will cover what you need to have and what you need to do to help you toward achieving that goal. How to Use a Computer Efficiently WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21, 10:00 - 12:00 P.M. Very often, people struggle to make their computers do what they need them to do; or they do the same tasks repeatedly and manually. There are so many ways you can make your computer work for you, or do tasks you do often faster, or even automatically. Don't let your computer wear you out. Take advantage of special key combinations (in Windows, in MacOS, or even in apps, including browsers), make judicious use of the Start menu, Startup folder (Login items on Macs), Quick Launch (Dock on Macs), Toolbars, ... Learn about defragmentation and how to automate it. Discover why automating Windows Updates (or MacOS updates) may not be in your best interest, even while automating everything else is. And more.
